Discussion
This was the number issued to lift the finds from the area (initially shovel-scraped
and then trowelled) between the northernmost (012AG00058)
of the two 12AG tenches and the southern edge of area 12AF.
The material removed was generally a sandy clay loam (Munsell colour 10YR
4/4). Of the 231 pot sherds recovered, 229 were Roman, with one Anglian
and one Medieval sherd. Two Roman coins were also found, an Antoninianus
of Tetricus I (270-274) and an AE3 of Gratian (367-375).
