Discussion

This was the last spit taken down over the western end of the trench. The material removed was a sandy silty loam (Munsell colour 10YR 4/3), containing 10% chalk inclusions (<5cm in diameter). The only two finds were a late Roman pot sherd and a charcoal sample.
