Discussion
This was the third of three spits (with 012AG00021
and 012AG00023) in what effectively became
a box section down through the deposits in central part of the trench.
The material removed was a sandy loam (Munsell 10YR 4/4). It was
seen in section that this spit comprised of the bottom half of layer 012AG00033.
Finds were two late Roman pot sherds, a stone (?shale) and a snail sample,
all in poor condition. This was the fill which sealed 012AG00034,
the narrow linear features (initially interpreted as wheel ruts).
