Discussion

This spit was rapidly excavated to define the relationship between 4 ditches (012AC00033, 012AC00035, 012AC00335 and 012AC00337). The material removed was a sandy loam (Munsell 10YR 3/3). The finds were evenly spread across the excavated area, which became in effect a box section across the lines of the ditches.
