Discussion

This area was originally the baulk between areas 12AD and 12AC, and was removed by machine during in the 1995 (17/07/95) excavation season. The area was cleaned by trowelling and then the finds were lifted under this number. The material removed was generally a sandy clay loam (Munsell colour 10YR 4/3).  A number of further spits were required to define the underlying features. Also revealed were the fills of a shallow depression.
