Discussion

This spit was located to the south-west of the turf-filled depression (012AC09503), and was excavated to help define the lines of the enclosure ditches (012AC00335 and 012AC00337). The material removed was a sandy loam (Munsell colour 10YR 3/3). A large number of animal bones were recovered, slightly clustered in the ditches..
