Discussion
This was the easternmost of two rectangular spits down the original south-
eastern edge of area 12AC. It was excavated to help define the edges of
ditches 012AC00060 and 012AC00204.
The material removed was a sandy loam (Munsell 10YR 3/3). It also defined
the only prehistoric feature excavated in 1he 1995 season, a Bronze Age
pit pair (012AC07081). Two clusters
of animal bone were found, one over the southern ditch (012AC00060)
and the other above the northernmost of the two Bronze
Age pits.
