Discussion

This was a rectangular spit, located just to the west of similar spit 012AC00019, removing the hillwash deposit to define features along the north-eastern edge of area 12AC. Only ditch 012AC00060 was defined. The material removed was a sandy clay loam (Munsell colour 10YR 3/3). Finds included an oyster shell and an iron ore fragment (though not from above the ditch).
