Discussion

This was a spit (under the northern part of spit 012AC00264) excavated to define a cluster of post holes (possibly associated with 012AC07086) and the northern termini of three ditches (012AC00335, 012AC00337 and 012AC00356). The material removed was a sandy loam (Munsell colour 10YR 3/3). The material culture was not particularly clustered above any of the underlying features.
