Discussion

This was an area of buried soil sealed by 002CB01503. It consisted of silty sand with occasional chalk inclusions (Munsell colour 7.5YR 5/6). Like the buried soils above, animal bone was distinctly lacking from this deposit.  Thirty-nine flint artefacts were recovered, although pottery found ranged from the Neolithic through to the Medieval periods.
