Discussion

This was the fouth and final removal of the buried soil to the east of the stream channel in area 2CA, around Grubenhaus 002CA00818. It was part of the same deposit to the east, excavated as 002CB00890.  The material removed was a sandy loam, with chalk inclusions <4cm throughout (although now in a lower density than in the upper 10-15cm of the deposit). The only find was a large fragment of charcoal.
