Discussion

This spit was excavated to the west of the gully complex 002CA01016 and the south of Grubenhaus 002CA01040, to test for the presence of features. The material removed was a silty sand (Munsell colour 10YR 4/4). The spit was limited on the west by natural sand and gravel. Although the finds appear clustered to the south of the Grubenhaus, no feature was defined in this area.
