Discussion

This was a number issued to lift the concentration of flint finds noted here (the north-western corner of excavation area 2CA), as well as to try and define any underlying feature. The material removed was a silty sand (Munsell colour 10YR 4/3). The finds included five flint artefacts, although Romano-British, Anglian and Medieval pottery were all present. In the event, no feature was defined.
