Discussion

This was a small burnt area, located just to the south of the Roman structure (012AF07215). It was revealed by the removal of spit 012AF00137. It contained much burnt grain, some lead sheeting and copper alloy sheet fragments. The deposit remained unexcavated, although the copper alloy was lifted due to its fragile condition.
