Discussion

This was the second spit taken over the western part of the trench. The material removed was a sandy clay loam (Munsell colour 10YR 3/3) with between 20-25% rounded chalk inclusions. Only two objects were found, both brick or tile fragments. Later study of the section demonstrated that most of this spit was in fact the removal of layer 012AG00027.
