Discussion

This was a cleaning area to the east of structure 012AF07215. The finds from this spit highlight the general trend for the southern parts of the site to contain many objects (the majority being later Roman pot sherds), with much lower densities of animal bone than were found further to the north. The finds are not evenly distributed, and a concentration can be seen in the centre of the excavated area (later further investigated by spit 012AF00124).
