Discussion

This was an elongated layer of hillwash, located at the interface between the chalk natural and earlier hillwash deposits on the western edge of the dry valley. It was a sandy loam (Munsell 10YR 4/3) with 15% chalk inclusions. No daub or charcoal flecking was noted, and there were no finds. The deposit was sealed by spit 012AD08473 and sealed part of enclosure ditch 012AD09136.
