Discussion

This was a layer of stony sandy loam (Munsell colour 10YR 4/3), with 20% chalk inclusions up to 7cm in diamater. There was no daub or charcoal flecking. The only find was a sherd of late Roman pottery, although this could possibly have come from the ditch 012AD01003. The deposit was cut by eight of the post holes in group Master 012AD07085.
