Discussion

This was a cleaning spit to define features in the north-eastern quadrant of area 2DB (the third of four, beneath 002DB00141 and above 002DB00146). The material removed was a lighter sandy loam (Munsell colour 10YR 3/6). Some areas of windblown sand (Munsell 10YR 5/8) are also excavated. No 3-dimensional points have been retrieved for the finds from this spit, so the animal bone only has been displayed in the plan above. Further definition of features was required in this area.
