Discussion

This was a small, rectangular spit excavated across the eastern extent of the buried soil deposit 002CA00080. and partly across the relict stream channel deposit.  The material removed was a sandy clay loam (Munsell colour 10YR 3/6). There were only three objects found, all of which were potsherds of a different date (one possible beaker sherd, a fragment of flint-tempered ware and a Medieval sherd).
