Discussion

Although the machine stripping is conventionally context number one for each area, in this case the number had already been issued for a small spit (011AD00001) located to the east of the spring. Almost all of the work carried out in 1990 was around the spring area, with the bulk of the area being completed in 1991 (as Area 11BD) and 1992 (as Area 11CD). This number was issued to lift the finds after the surface had been brushed.
