Discussion

This was a silty clay layer (Munsell colour 10YR 3/1), located to the west of the spring pool. A problem was encountered with this layer, in that it was initially given context number 011AD00081, which had already been issued for another layer near the well. Before this problem was noted, a number of finds had been lifted under the wrong number. Only one find was lifted under this number, a fragment of limestone.
