Discussion

This was a box section excavated through part of the clay layer 011AD00008. It was originally 250cm long by 75cm wide, later extended to 200cm east-west (as indicated on the plan above). The only finds were a flint scraper, a snail sample and a cattle bone. Although a depth of 55cm is recorded for the section, it does not indicate whether the entire depth was of the dark clay layer.
