Discussion

This was one of five layers (with 011BD01582, 011BD01583, 011BD01584 and 011BD01684) in an excavated section to the west of the spring pool. This deposit was a clay loam (Munsell colour 10YR 4/2). Among the objects found was a fragment of waterlogged wood (possibly part of a root), as well as two Niedermendig lava fragments. Nineteen animal bones were recovered (10 cattle and 9 sheep/goat). The layer partly overly enclosure ditch 011CD07114.
