Discussion

This was the final removal of the dark (Munsell colour 10YR 2/2) buried soil deposit, previously excavated as 011CE00554 and 011CE00628. It was differentiated from the upper layer by being sealed by a stone rubble deposit (011CE00914). The deposit filled a shallow depression, and at this depth it had narrowed to a small area to the west of daub structure 011CE07068. The only finds were two flint artefacts.
