011BE00139 Object Totals by Period and Material

This was the cleaning spit which extended the area to the east (under what had been the previous season's spoil heap) towards the line of the stream channel. The material removed was generally a sandy loam (Munsell colour 10YR 4/3), although patches of darker material were also noted. The finds distribution was beginning to show some evidence of the features containing them, particularly in the south, although the ditches were still not visible on the ground. Finds included a late Roman coin, a copper alloy pin and an iron axe-head.
