Discussion

This was the final spit excavated in the north-western corner of area 11CE. It was adjacent to spit 011CE00573 to the west. The material removed was a very light coloured (Munsell colour 10YR 5/5) loamy sand. The spit helped to define the north-eastern segment of ditch 011CE20009, pits 011CE00597, 011CE00783 and 011CE00938, as well as the northern part of daub structure 011CE07068.
