Discussion

This spit was excavated in order to define a number of features cut into the chalk on the western edge of the dry valley. The material removed was a sandy silty loam (Munsell 10YR 4/3). A number of feature were defined, including pit 012AD05296 (unexcavated), quarry pit 012AD05338, slot 012AD05292 and enclosure ditch 012AD05188.
