Discussion

This was an area of buried soil (made up of a silty sand), revealed by the removal of spit 002CC00018. A number of features were noted to cut through this deposit, and thus it may be prehistoric in origin, although as it was not excavated this can not be demonstrated. No finds were noted on the surface.
