Discussion

This spit was excavated along the length of a number of ditches (east-west aligned ditches 012AD06060, 012AD06114 and 012AD07225, and a north-south aligned ditch 012AD07220) to try and ascertain their relationships. The material removed was a sandy clay loam (Munsell colour 10YR 3/3) with 10% chalk inclusions. Some daub, but no charcoal was noted.
