Discussion

This was a small, rectangular spit, excavated to define the limits of a sequence of north-south aligned ditches (012AD00754, 012AD00918, 012AD00920 and 012AD007220). The material removed was a sandy loam (Munsell colour 10YR 4/2) with 5% chalk inclusions. Both daub and charcoal flecking were noted.
