Discussion

 The eastern central ditch of a group of four parallel north/south aligned ditches in the east of area 11BA. The ditch was cut by Grubenhaus 011BA07013 and cuts through ditch 011BA00277 to the west. The northern ends of all four ditches turn slightly to the west and may have butted on to the large curvilinear enclosure 011BA07130 to form a separate enclosure to the south. No relationship with the large enclosure was established and the continuation of these ditches beyond the enclosure cannot be ruled out. The southern ends of the ditches disappeared into the south area baulk, under the present road. A coin of Valens (367AD to 375AD) was recovered from fill 011BA00184.
