Discussion

 The western central ditch of a group of four parallel north/south aligned ditches in the east of area 11BA. The ditch was cut by Grubenhaus 011BA07013 and is likely to have been cut by ditch 011BA00273 to the west (not confirmed during excavation). The northern ends of all four ditches turn slightly to the west and may have butted on to the large curvilinear enclosure 011BA07130 to form a separate enclosure to the south. No relationship with the large enclosure was established and the continuation of these ditches beyond the enclosure cannot be ruled out. The southern ends of the ditches disappeared into the south area baulk, under the present road. The finds from these context numbers are likely to have been lifted under context numbers 011BA00188 and 011BA00189 (within the document for ditch 011BA00273) as the two ditches were excavated as one.
