Two multi-spectral flights have been carried out by the National Environmental Research Council (NERC), both covering the core project area. The first was flown on the 27/06/1992, using a Daedalus 1268 Airborne Thematic Mapper (ATM) which collects data in 11 bands. The second was carried out on the 23/06/2005, and used an updated version of the Daedalus 1268 and a hyper-spectral machine, the Compact Airborne Spectrographic Imager (CASI), which was set to collect data from 48 bands.
