Discussion

One of two spits (with 002CA00811) directly beneath spit 002CA00088, this spit was situated 6 metres west of the edge of the stream channel. This spit overlay spit 002CA00814, and was part of the removal of the buried soil 002CA00081 in this area. This spit contained only 26 objects and 3 animal bones. A slight concentration of finds was noted in the southern part of the spit, but no feature was subsequently noted. The soil was a medium textured, sandy clay loam (Munsell 10YR 4/4).
