Discussion

Only a short segment of this slightly curvilinear slot was excavated. It was filled with a loamy sand (Munsell colour 10YR 4/4), with 2% chalk inclusions (less than 2cm in diameter). No daub or charcoal flecking was noted.

The slot was cut into sand and gravel, with a U-shaped profile.
