Small Pit or Post Hole

Discussion

This proved to be the latest event in the sequence at the eastern end of trench 12AF. A small pit (or possibly a post hole) was cut through deposit 012AF00018. It was the same Munsell colour (10YR4/3) as this deposit, but was distinguished by a lack of chalk inclusions. Four sherds of pottery, all of a late Roman (4th century) date were recovered.
