The feature has been truncated by enclosure ditch 012AC09501, removing the eastern edge of the feature and making interpretation difficult. It is possible that the slot relates to an earlier phase of the enclosure complex, possibly an entrance component, defined by either of the earlier enclosure ditches,  012AC09500 or 012AC07209.
