Cremation Pit

Discussion

This, along with 011AC00039, is one of 2 cremations in this area. It contained several large and a number of smaller sherds (both rim and body) of a buff yellow pot with large inclusions, which were dated to the Middle Bronze Age. All of the excavated fill (which comprised a loamy sand of a friable texture and Munsell colour 75/YR/44) was retained; it contained only a few small pieces of calcined bone. One snail shell (possibly intrusive?) was also recovered.
