Discussion

This was the cleaning back by trowel of the area originally forked as spit 011AA00172. Removal of this spit revealed a number of post holes, which proved to be a Middle Saxon post hole structure. A glass yellow-on-red bead was recovered. Like 011AA00172 above, the majority of the animal bones recovered were sheep/goat.
