Discussion

A small east/west aligned slot in the north/east of area 11CE. The east side of this feature was cut by Grubenhaus 011CE20005. The stone footing of a round house (011CE20001) over-lay the fill of this slot, indicating that this belongs to one of the earliest phases of activity in this area. The presence of two worked flints and the absence of animal bone also suggest that this is an early feature, despite being on the same alignment as later slots 011CE00789 and 011CE00605 to the south. The relationship between this slot and pit 011CE00913 in the west end was not established although it is likely the pit cuts through the slot.
