Hearth

Discussion

A circular hearth in central 11BD. The hearth was visible when the area was opened in 1990 (11AD) but not issued with a context number until 1991. The structure is immediately to the east of north/south aligned slot 011CD05249 but the relationship between the two is unknown. An iron pin/nail was found in association with the hearth. The feature was archaeomagnetically dated. It had a chalk gravel base (which may have been issued with a separate number 011CD05021 in 1992).
