Discussion
Initially the feature was believed to be one large, irregularly shaped
pit, but subsequent excavation demonstrated that at least three pits were
present (012AC00147,
012AC00208
and 012AC00212). This pit remained
unexcavated, although it was taken down to expose the burnt daub deposit
(012AC00161) which lay within it. A sample of this
material was taken.
The pit cut through surface 012AC00130,
with an undulating profile.
