All of the 8 finds (all potsherds) recovered were of a Roman date, 1 sherd of samian, 1 of grey ware, and the remaining 6 later 3rd-4th century jars fragments. The pit was cut by ditch 012AD08014.

Discussion

The pit contained a single, loamy sand fill (Munsell colour 10YR 4/4), with no daub or charcoal flecking. It contained 10% angular chalk inclusions. It was cut into natural sand and chalk gravel, with a U-shaped profile.
