A long, irregular spit excavated to define the features cut into chalk along the western edge of the dry valley. The material removed was generally a sandy loam (Munsell colour ranging from 10YR 4/3 to 10YR 3/3). It defined ditches 012AD005532 and 012AD07213, and pits 012AD5482 and 012AD05554.
