The pit contained no diagnostic material culture. Stratigraphically, it was sealed by spit 012AD00358, and had no other stratigraphic relationships.

Discussion

This small round pit was located just to the south-east of post hole structure 012AD01000.  It contained a single fill (012AD00422), a sandy loam (Munsell colour 10YR 3/3), with 30% chalk inclusions (1-10cm in diameter). No daub flecking was noted, but charcoal flecks were present (2 samples were taken).

The pit was cut into natural chalk with a wide U profile. Plough truncation had occurred.
