Discussion

 A short length of early ditch in the north of area 12AB. The north terminus was partially cut away by enclosure ditch 012AB00761. The ditch was also cut by east/west aligned slots/ditches 012AB00751, 012AB00753 and 012AB00755. A similarly aligned and shaped ditch to the north (012AB00844) may be associated with this feature, possibly forming an early enclosure entrance. Three fills were recovered from the ditch; a primary fill containing large pieces of charcoal (012AB00786), a secondary fill of silty clay loam with slight daub flecking (012AB00783) and a final daub-rich fill (012AB00777). The ditch was cut into a possible prehistoric land surface (issued with context 012AB00785), a silty clay loam (Munsell colour 10YR 4/6).
