Discussion

An irregularly shaped ditch in the west of area 11CE, probably associated with the entrance of enclosure ditch 011CE20010. Two post holes; 011CE00970 and 011CE00662 (post packing, the post hole was not excavated) are also likely to be associated with the enclosure entrance. Other post holes may have been cut into the northern segment of the ditch. The ditch was cut by slot 011CE00664 which was cut in turn by enclosure ditch 011CE20011. Although a single fill context was issued to this feature, the section shows at least three stages of deposition. Although this feature was relatively deep, no finds were recovered from the fills. A Roman date is likely for the enclosure complex.
